Scenic helicopter flights with children

Children fly as passengers when the operator’s seats, restraints and briefing say they can. There is no single tourist-board age that overrides the cabin.

A child who can sit, listen, and wear a headset may have the best day of the holiday. A child who cannot stay belted will have a bad briefing and you will have no flight.

Ask:

  • minimum age
  • own seat or not
  • headset size
  • whether a nervous child can sit with a parent in that type (often: no, because seats are seats)

Hold their hand on the pad. The tail rotor does not care that it is a birthday.

We do not publish a fake national minimum age table. CASA’s passenger briefing requirement still applies. The operator’s procedures fill in the rest.

Questions people ask

Can children fly?

Often yes, subject to the operator’s minimum age, whether the child occupies a seat, and the restraint used. Ask before you book. Do not assume a lap is a seat.
